Six-day ‘Stone Masonry Workshop’
CRISIS Research Lab and the Department of Architecture of the University of Ioannina are organising, in collaboration with the Municipality of Konitsa and in the framework of the project STONE ART – Development of Transboundary Thematic Tourism through the Conservation of Stone Art – Interreg-IPA CBC Greece – Albania, a six-day “Stone Masonry Workshop” between the 18th-23rd of March 2023 in Konitsa.
The six-day workshop will include:
- a series of lectures by distinguished speakers from the fields of architecture, engineering, anthropology and art history
- a practical training session at a historical building of Konitsa under the guidance of experienced craftsmen
- a guided tour of selected monuments of Konitsa and
- an event dedicated to stone art with competitions and events for children.
The workshop is addressed to students and professionals from the fields of architecture, engineering, archaeology, anthropology and in general to researchers, professionals and amateurs involved in traditional construction of stone masonry.
There are twenty (20) places available. Participation in the programme is free of charge and includes accommodation and one meal per day.
